I went to Bangsan to visit my brother and his family. We come hear must eat seafood at the beach but this time we didn't eat much because my car had problem so I worried about how to repair and can go back to Bangkok. It's spoil my appetite ;-(

On the way to back from Korat to Chinat, my hubby drove pass Saraburi province and we decided to stop for lunch at Saraburi. I call to my friend, he working at Thai-Denmark to meet for lunch. He recommended to met at Dairyhome Steak house.

I met my friend sister, whose came from Belgium with her family to visit her home town and she spent a few days in Bangkok so we make appointment to see us. This is our first time meet. I know her and her sister and chat with her via MSN and facbook.

Eat and Talk 1 - MaeJJ Groups

Every time I went back to Bangkok, our group will arrange to meet for eat and talk. This time also the same, we meet at my house everybody brought a pot luck. We told them to bring food or whatever if they can.
We don’t like to go restaurant, there had many reason, 1st we can’t stay longer than our place, 2nd we can’t chat openly or too loud, 3rd very importance to us we can’t bring our own food or desert which it normal we like to bake ourselves and let our friends try. All of us when get together it’s more like to talk abut food, baking, cake decoration, hand-craft and other thing.

Trip to Chanthaburi - Thailand

I went back to Thailand this time. Friends and I were plan to pay a homage to the Buddha, at Khao Kitchagud in Chanthaburi. We had make a plan together for a month early. I went to Chanthaburi province with my friends. All 5 people, we drove there about 3- 3 1/2 hrs from Bangkok to Chanthaburi.

After we finished visit of the temple, it was a noon time. We were looking for the restaurant to have our lunch. The province we went was famous seafood, and by a chance I had call my old classmate, which it he was stay there, he so happy to see us and he brought us to the seafood restaurant near the sea side too.

Eat Out with Old Friends

Every time when ever I’m back to Bangkok, my old friends from my college make arrange for dinner together either my house, somebody house or restaurant. This time also the same but we arrange to meet at the restaurant calls; “Rearn Pan Yha” (Rearn: means home, Pan Ya: also means home but is an anciently home style)

This restaurant is on the Kasetnawamin Road or Leab Thang Daun Ram-Indra-Ekamai Road. On this road you can fine a lot of place to eat and all are connect to each other. When you come all the way to this road you can choose what food, what style you like to eat.

“Rearn Pan Yha” restaurant is nice and impressive decorating place. When you walk in you can fill a fresh and comfortable as your own home. We choose to sit out side instead of in the room, because it was airy and so cooling. If you prefer the room and want to sing Karaoke, they also have it. They will charge you by person extra from the foods you order.

Outside the restaurant, where are all the table seat, they made around the seat with a small pool, water plant and a tree, so make you more relax and enjoy your foods while chit chat with friends too.

From this picture, I can imagine this is a big house in last 40-50 years ago. When you saw big house like this, it's most are them from rich family and they have more people and servants stay.

Last time Thai house always had more windows similar like this restaurant, because Thai people like the wind to come into the house and cooling.

Morning Breakfast as Country Style

21-November 2009 ; went back to Thailand for holiday only with my daughter, my hubby and sun have can’t make it. This holiday for both of us and we didn’t travel too far from Bangkok. We went to Bangsan- Chonburi to visit my younger brother and his family only, we enjoyed eating seafood and side seeing.

In the morning my brother brought us to the shop selling breakfast as country style. They’re selling porridge, Yu Tiao Ko (Thai call; Pa tong ko) and drink e.g coffee, tea, Chinese tea, Milo/Ovaltin and soft drink.

We're order porridge, eat with Pa Thong Ko, I ordered coffee which they serve with transparent glass. When I saw this, it makes me think back to my old time. When we a childhood we stayed country side or they calls “up country”. I always went to coffee shop with my father in the morning he will had coffee with his friend s and chit chat. In that time they served the coffee with the glass like this. I’m very impression that we still can find a coffee shop, who like to keep the old style.
