Cream Cheese Brownies

Brownies:
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 2 ounce unsweetened chocolate
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour or cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Cheese Layer:

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  1. In the large microwave safe bowl, combine butter and chocolate. Cover and microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, stir until smooth.
  2. Beat in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour and baking powder until blended.
  3. Spread into a greased 8x8 tray, set aside.
  4. In the a microwave safe bowl, heat cream cheese on high for 45-60 seconds or until softened, stir until smooth. Beat in sugar, egg and vanilla.
  5. Spoon over the brownies batter, cut through batter with a knife or wooden stick to swirl
  6. Bake at 170-180 degree C about 20-25 minutes or until toothpick come out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
